• To contribute anonymised observation data to ocean health research and citizen science initiatives.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Research partners: Aggregated and anonymised observation data may be shared with academic or scientific institutions for ocean health research.
• Service providers: Trusted third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g. cloud hosting, image processing), bound by confidentiality obligations.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Observation data may be retained indefinitely as part of the scientific record. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us.

We use industry-standard encryption and secure storage practices to protect your data. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the platform's secure storage facilities.

The CSI Ocean app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
